It started with an overnight road trip to North Carolina. Continued with two friends bidding against each other for an unfinished building full of debris and water-damaged construction material. At some point a trailer with overly thin walls and not enough refrigerator space showed up. A GoPro on a hardhat played an important role. And then the hiring started.
As recoders, everything bluebird bio touches is open to being reimagined. Building out our first viral vector manufacturing facility was no exception. But we didn’t just build another nest for our flock. We built a house of hope for people living with severe, life-altering diseases.
